Toothless quadsuit cosplay ref by Toriroz Toothless quadsuit cosplay ref by Toriroz
just got done watching HTTYD <3 love that movie :) Toothless rox! Got me thinking about this cosplay idea. after I finish my sister's okami I want to start working on another one.

The design has a moving jaw, digitigrade legs with arm stilts, wiggling front fingers (probably wont do that :P), follow-me-eyes, moving wings with posture and a jointed tail that I forgot to mention in the captions >< :D so excited that I lost track of time! I hope to have enough time to work on it this year.

This looks like a really good blueprint. But how do you see? Also, does the red line connecting the wig to the leg move the wing?

This was the first draft, so I didn't use this wing design in the final, but in theory, yes. The wing would be moved with a cable connected the the users leg. My final vision was out the chest through see-through mesh, and also with a camera system positioned between the eye on the head.

would it be possible to pull this off with a toothless hoodie cosplay?

i'm makeing a hoodie toothless cosplay with built in paws....

but i thought if i made a pair of these......"quad....stilts"? i could possibly make a quadsuit toothless....albelt a anatomically incorrect version.

Technically, yes, you could, but quadsuits look really awful without any sort of padding around the belly and legs. Not to mention the lack of neck, especially on a character with such a long one, would look ridiculous.

hoodie toothless cosplay will be very baggy. padding can be worn on the inside

PLUS I"M FAT! :dummy: no extra padding needed!

chibi toothless then?

the wings are going to be ausome though

i just ordered them a while ago, unfortunatly no the bat type wings but a red kind that lacks the inner webbing...

my idea is to make the toothless hoodie costume's front paws small enough that they could be slipped into a pair of quadsuit stilts, that way i could transition between both biped and quad locomotion and still only have one main costume

it'll look like crap most likely but if anything i'll look like i'm cosplaying as a giant toothless stuffed animal

Hey! I dont know how you're planning to take on the tail, but I wanted to share how I made the tail for my Yoshi costume:

I made a system of hinge joints:

I then shaped the tail around it with foam:

The foam forces the tail back to a straight neutral position, but each step I take shifts it back and forth so it looks like I'm moving my tail.

I love your work, and I can't wait to see this done!
